Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1 – ARRIVE KILIMANJARO, ARUSHA

Our representatives will warmly meet you on arrival at the Kilimanjaro International airport; transfer you to your city hotel where they will brief you on your safari arrangements. Enjoy overnight at the hotel where you are booked on bed and breakfast. Arusha Serena Hotel, Resort & Spa

Arusha Serena Hotel, Resort &Spa

Nestled at the foot of the wooded slopes of Mount Meru, this unique hotel stands amid coffee plantations on the shores of tranquil Lake Duluti. Designed to echo the traditional style of the colonial coffee farm, which originally stood on this site, the hotel offers a range of tastefully presented cottage-styled rooms set amid extensive landscaped grounds.

DAY 2 – ARUSHA TO LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK & NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast depart with packed Lunches and drive to Lake Manyara National park for game viewing drive. The extraordinary birdlife and Tree climbing lions are but one of the lure. The place is world-renown amongst the ornithologists, who come to observe the masses of pink flamingos and great birds of prey,

Later in the evening you will drive to Ngorongoro climbing to the altitude of 8,000 feet. You continue to ascend to the exterior of the crater reaching its rim and here your first glimpse of what has often been referred to as the “Eighth wonder of the World.”

The Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built onto the rim of this amazing natural phenomenon, a stunning plant and local creeper covered stone lodge where guests co-exist in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural environment and wildlife.

DAY 3 – NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast descend to the floor of the crater for game viewing drives. Often described as the ‘Eighth’ wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro crater is so spectacular, a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, including the black rhino. It is also a conservation area inhabited by the Masai tribe.

Picnic lunch will be served at one of the designated picnic sites on the crater floor.

As the sun sets on the western side of the crater rim, ascend and drive to the Lodge to arrive in time to refresh for dinner.

DAY 4 – NGORONGORO TO serengeti national park

After breakfast depart and drive to Serengeti National park to arrive in time for lunch at the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge.

1600hrs depart for an afternoon game viewing drive before returning to the lodge in time early evening.

DAY 5 – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Full day in Serengeti National park with morning and afternoon game viewing drive in the Park. Apart from the Selous, this is the largest of all the Parks in Tanzania, summed up as ‘one of the most unique areas in the world’. The Serengeti contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale which has no parallel anywhere in the world.

Even during the height of the migration towards the Masai Mara, there is a huge concentration of plains game in the Reserve, mainly concentrated around the watering places, and with good chances also of seeing the predators at work.

DAY 6– SERENGETI TO ZANZIBAR

Breakfast in Lodge. Later depart and drive to Seronera Airstrip for schedule flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at the Zanzibar Airport, you will be met by a Serena Representative who will drive you the short distance into Stone Town, and the fabulous Zanzibar Serena Hotel. Idyllically situated on the sea-front of ancient Stone Town, and flanked by an exotic mix of sultan’s palaces, Portuguese forts, ancient dhow harbours, and bright bazaars, the hotel is a haven of tranquility and opulence amongst the bustle of one Africa’s most ancient and most enchanting towns. DAY 7 – ZANZIBAR

Breakfast in the Hotel

Full day in Zanzibar to explore Stone Town and the Island. Take an excursion to Mangapwani, Serena’s exclusive and private beach facility for a swim and lunch.

DAY 8 – DEPRTURE
Breakfats at the Hotel, you can spend the last hours of your journey to relax. Later you will have a transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your Interanational flight.
